About.
Jake Holt is a Teesside based Singer Songwriter, writing and performing original music as well as performing and arranging cover songs.
Jake started his musical journey at a young age, obsessed with classic rock and old blues from a time before he could speak. Many years later at the age of 8 he started to learn the guitar to accompany his already well known (in certain circles) voice, struggling along the way due to dyspraxia he never gave up and eventually entered a local music competition, at the age of 15, called "Buskidol". as the youngest entrant of the whole competition, he was not expecting to do particularly well and only entered for the joy of playing music. however he eventually won the competition and began his journey through music in earnest, studying music at Middlesbrough college and then the Academy of Music And Sound.
Throughout his career Jake has played a number of notable venues and festivals such as Stockton's Georgian Theatre on a number of occasions, The Arc, Middlesbrough Town Hall, Stockton Fringe Festival in it's final 2 years (2009 and 2010), Bearded Theory Festival 2018 (even lending his guitar out to Reggae legend and Festival Headliner Jimmy Cliff) among many others.
Now an accomplished singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Jake is turning his talents toward music production in an attempt to totally self-publish his music. His first EP "Introducing..." has been entirely created by himself with the only exception being in some of the images used coming from professional photographers Bob Peel (Peel Imagery) and Jason Watkin Photography, and a graphic design for the Crest Logo by Martyn Kyriu. From this pool of skills Jake intends to build his understanding of the industry at large, using this as a springboard to work with many other talented music professionals.
Turning to the 21st century Jake Holt has recently launched a Twitch channel performing twice a week live online in addition to his ever growing portfolio of #CasualCovers videos on Youtube. Jake Intends to continue to adapt and improvise with new technologies and platforms for his music, in this way Jake Holt can manage to stay relevant in an ever changing industry.
